Hannahville Indian Community Continues to Support and Enrich the Community Through 2% Grant Program

MENOMINEE, MI –
The Menominee County Board of Commissioners would like to recognize the Hannahville Indian Community for the overabundant amount of support they have provided to Menominee County over the years through their 2% Grant Program. The Hannahville Indian Community has provided thousands of dollars in funding thorough this program to support projects and programs that have greatly enriched the community.

Twice a year, local governments have an opportunity to submit grant applications through the 2% Grant Program. The Hannahville Indian Community has provided grant awards for a wide-range of projects, including the purchase of equipment for local law enforcement, fire, rescue, and emergency management agencies, equipment and funding towards capital improvements in the Menominee County Parks System, security enhancements to the Menominee County Courthouse, and funding programs to help disadvantaged youth to just name a few.

"The generosity of the Hannahville Indian Community is truly astonishing," said Jason Carviou, Menominee County Administrator. "They have supported many projects in our community that simply would not have happened without their support. We are very fortunate to have the Hannahville Indian Community here in Menominee County."

Recently, Menominee County was awarded funding towards the purchases of radios in the county jail, body cameras for road patrol deputies, a generator for the emergency communications trailer, a piece of equipment to enhance the County’s GIS System, a new dock at Shakey Lakes Park, security software, and funding for a program that supports children who have an incarcerated parent.
