The Clarence J.E. Hansen 4-H Memorial Scholarship


Dear 4-H Graduating Senior,
Thanks to the generosity of long-time 4-H supporter Clarence J.E. Hansen, the Menominee CoWity 4-H Foundation is able to offer a scholarship for higher education to a graduating senior active in the 4-H program.
The recipient will receive $1000 a year for up to four years, for a total of $4,000. The scholarship may be used toward the cost of attending the college or vocational school of the student's choice. The following criteria will apply:




1. Applicant must be currently enrolled in the Menominee County 4-H program in 4-H online.

2. To reduce bias, the selection committee will consist of two members of the Foundation board and a conimunity member not affiliated with 4-H. Anyone related to any of the applicants is not allowed to serve on the scholarship selection committee.

3. Awarding of the scholarship will be based on the following criteria: Scholarship Application Form: 75 points (4-H involvement- 30 points; Community involvement - 10 points; Education: GPA and school involvement - 10 points; Leadership - 10 points; Goals - 5 points; Essay - 10 points); Oral interview: 25 points. Each candidate may receive up to a total of 100 points.

4. The scholarship each year will be awarded in two parts. The frrst year, $500 will be awarded at the start of fall semester. Thereafter, each $500 installment will be awarded upon receipt of a copy of the past semester's grades showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.


5. Thescholarship must be used with.in six years of being awarded.


6. The scholarship application must include the name of a 4-H leader for a
reference. Please include two wallet-size photos for publicity purposes.

than March 1, 2021. No exceptions!

Interviews will be held on March 25, 2021 via zoom.

You will be contacted to set up a time and then sent a link to join the interview.

Nervous about connecting to a zoom meeting no worries we can practice
if needed.

The scholarship recipient
will be announced
within days of1he interview.
