Fingerprint Background Checks

The Sheriff's Office offers LiveScan electronic fingerprint background checks for a variety of licensing or pre-employment needs. Fingerprints and results are transmitted digitally - applicants do not receive a copy of their fingerprints or results from the Sheriff's Office.


SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS
Fingerprinting services are offered by appointment only. Appointments are generally offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM. 

Fingerprinting services are also offered at our Stephenson office location, or at the Harris Township Hall, one day per month. Please call the Sheriff's Office at 906-863-4441 to schedule an appointment at one of our three locations.


COST
There is a $62.00 fee for LiveScan fingerprints. Payment can be made via cash or check - the Sheriff's Office does not have the ability to process card payments.


DOCUMENTS NEEDED
Applicants must bring the following items to their fingerprinting appointment:ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS
Fingerprinting is done at the Menominee County Sheriff's Office / Menominee County Jail building located at 831 10th Avenue. Parking is available on the street in front of the jail, or in the parking lot of the Menominee County Courthouse.

Upon arrival, please use the Administrative Office entrance located on the west side of the jail. As all doors are locked, applicants will need to use the intercom button, located on the wall to the right of the entrance, to request entry into the building.


LOCAL FINGERPRINTING SERVICES
Although the Sheriff's Office offers only LiveScan electronic fingerprinting, other ink and digital fingerprinting options are available locally.
  • For a physical ink fingerprint card, please contact the City of Menominee Police Department.
  • For IdentoGO electronic fingerprints, please contact the Menominee County ISD office.
