Job Summary

The Seasonal Office Attendant is an essential team member of the Menominee County Parks System. Each year, Menominee County welcomes thousands of visitors to our county parks to enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities.
 
The Seasonal Office Attendant supports the daily operations of the Menominee County Parks System by performing a variety of office and custodial tasks.             
 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
 
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position.  Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position.  Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Provide courteous assistance to park visitors and respond to general inquiries. Create, edit, and cancel camping reservations. 
  • Sell passes, firewood, and kayak rentals. 
  • Receipt payments, balance cash drawers, and prepare deposits. 
  • May assist the buildings & grounds crew with cleaning bathrooms, emptying garbage receptacles, and other duties as assigned.   
  • Assist in the enforcement of the Menominee County Parks Use Ordinance. 
  • Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment as required. 
  • Work independently or as part of a team under the direction of supervisory staff. 
 Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.   
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. 
 Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications
 
In order to perform the functions and responsibilities of the position the following knowledge, skills, and abilities are essential.
 
Minimum Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems.
  • Knowledge of standard customer service principles.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations, including email and reservation systems.
  • General understanding of recordkeeping and data entry practices.
  • Basic understanding of public park operations and the Menominee County Parks Use Ordinance.
  • General knowledge of cleaning and sanitation standards for public facilities. 
Minimum Skills
  • Skill in providing courteous and professional customer service.
  • Skill in operating a computer, including word processing, email, and reservation software.
  • Skill in accurate data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Skill in handling cash transactions, making change, reconciling cash drawers, and preparing deposits.
  • Skill in basic math for processing payments and balancing receipts.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. 
Minimum Abilities
  •  Ability to interact positively and professionally with park visitors and staff.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy while performing cash handling and data entry tasks.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when responding to visitor concerns or enforcing park rules.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and visitor information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform light custodial duties, including lifting and carrying supplies (typically up to 25–30 pounds).
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays if required.
