One County Board Commissioner is appointed to the Northpointe Behavioral Healthcare Systems Board of Directors. This Commissioner shall receive and hear all communications and reports concerning mental health and submit such reports as it may have from time to time to the County Board for appropriate action and advice. 

The Northpointe Behavioral Board of Directors has 12 members. The members are divided based on the size of the County. Therefore, 5 members are for Menominee County, 5 members for Dickinson County, and 2 members for Iron County. The make-up (which is stated in the Mental Health code) is made up of 1/3 primary/secondary consumers with 1/2 of them being primary consumers. Persons who have experienced or have a family member who has received mental health or developmental disability services through an agency, either public or private, are encouraged to apply for the appointments when needed. The appointments are 3-year terms.

The meetings are held in Kingsford, Iron River, or Menominee County.
