Menominee County Property Fraud Alert Service
To help combat potential fraud stemming from identity theft or other various means, the Menominee County Register of Deeds office offers a free e-mail Property Fraud Alert Service for documents recorded in this office.
How This Service Works:
After enrollment into the program, when the Menominee County Register of Deeds office records documents under the name(s) you have provided, an email alert notification will be sent to the email address you provided.
To sign up for the Property Fraud Alert Service, simply provide your name, e-mail address and phone number.
Things to Know:
Alerts are sent based upon name matches. If multiple people share the same name, EXAMPLES: John Smith or Carol Jones,
for all with that name enrolled in the fraud alert program will receive notifications whenever ANY document is recorded containing that name.
Persons with common names are more likely to receive “false alarms” than individuals with uncommon names. If you have been known by more than one name, or change your name in the future, you will want to consider signing up for each of those names.
This service is intended as an informational aid ONLY and should not be considered a substitute for manually reviewing your records. Errors and omissions may occur, and it is advisable to periodically review your property records even if you have received no alert e-mails.
This free service is provided “as-is” for informational purposes only. After enrolling in the fraud alert program, an alert will be sent when documents are recorded under the name provided on your alert
profile. Under no circumstances shall either Menominee County or DEKETO (the County’s software provider) assume any responsibility or liability whatsoever in regard to this service, including but not limited to errors, omissions, and lost or misdirected notices. No information provided on the application for service will be disclosed to third parties except when required by law. By signing up for this service the User is agreeing to the terms, conditions, and limitations of the service and will hold Menominee County and DEKETO (Company that provides Fraud Alert software) harmless in the event that User is dissatisfied with the service. |
