Barbara ParrettThe Office of the County Treasurer was established by the Michigan Constitution. The County Treasurer is authorized by the Michigan Constitution and Statutes to serve as the County's Banker and Investment Officer. Under State law, the County Treasurer's primary duties are as the custodian of all County funds, and as the collector of delinquent real property taxes.

By Statute, the County Treasurer is a member of the Plat Board, the Election Commission, and may also serve on other boards or commissions.

The Office of County Treasurer fulfills many other responsibilities, such as:
• Accounting of all revenue and investments
• Foreclosing Governmental Unit for property tax foreclosures
• Administrative agent for the Delinquent Tax Revolving Fund
• Sale of dog licenses
• Tax clearance of deeds and other documents pertaining to tax histories
