24-HOUR ROAD PATROL
The Menominee County Sheriff's Office offers road patrol and emergency response services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. These law enforcement operations are funded through the Emergency Response & 24-Hour Road Patrol Services millage, a property tax assessed to residents of Menominee County.
DETECTIVE DIVISION
The Menominee County Sheriff's Office includes three detectives, who handle narcotics interdiction and a wide variety of criminal investigations, including homicide, assaults, sex crimes, trafficking, embezzlement, and fraud, among others. Additional duties include performing background checks, internal investigations, assistance to outside agencies, and fulfilling Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
K9 UNIT
The Sheriff's Office K9 Unit is a community-funded program. Our three working dogs provide narcotics detection, tracking, and apprehension services.
As our K9 Unit does not receive municipal funding, we rely on donations, grants, and fundraisers to ensure the continued prosperity of our K9 program. Donations can be made directly to the Menominee County Sheriff's Office via Point and Pay, or to our handlers' 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Menominee County K9 Foundation.
DRONE DIVISION
Our Drone Unit includes two Part 107-certified drone pilots and three drones that are utilized for search and rescue, apprehension, officer safety, and tactical purposes. This technology was funded through community donations and grants. Donations for our Drone Unit can be made via Point and Pay.
RECREATIONAL SAFETY
State and federal grant funds allow our Road Patrol division to provide recreational safety education and enforcement. These grant-funded activities include funding for:
