Description:
The County Clerk's office:
Apportionment Committee - The Menominee County Apportionment Committee is responsible for establishing County Commissioner districts within the County every 10 years after the census has been completed.
The County Clerk's office:
- Administers elections; orders and proofs ballots; produces vote totals reports and certifications; oversees voter registration in conjunction with the State of Michigan; produces voter books; trains precinct workers for elections.
- Oversees the filing/recording of all vital statistics including birth, death, and marriage records; prepares certified records and copies. Issues marriage licenses and processes exemptions.
- Acts as Clerk for County Board meetings, Gun Board, Election Commission; Special Election Scheduling Committee and Board of Canvassers. Serves as a member of the County Reapportionment Committee.
- Serves as Clerk for Circuit Court Judges; receives and processes all Circuit Court filings; opens new cases.
- Receives and receipts all fines and fees for the Court and for other records.
- Oversees County payroll, accounts payable and benefit program processing and activities, processing of health and life insurance forms and pension records and processing of workers compensation claims.
- Processes personal protection orders.
