Description:

The County Clerk's office:
  • Administers elections; orders and proofs ballots; produces vote totals reports and certifications; oversees voter registration in conjunction with the State of Michigan; produces voter books; trains precinct workers for elections.
  • Oversees the filing/recording of all vital statistics including birth, death, and marriage records; prepares certified records and copies. Issues marriage licenses and processes exemptions.
  • Acts as Clerk for County Board meetings, Gun Board, Election Commission; Special Election Scheduling Committee and Board of Canvassers. Serves as a member of the County Reapportionment Committee.
  • Serves as Clerk for Circuit Court Judges; receives and processes all Circuit Court filings; opens new cases.
  • Receives and receipts all fines and fees for the Court and for other records.
  • Oversees County payroll, accounts payable and benefit program processing and activities, processing of health and life insurance forms and pension records and processing of workers compensation claims.
  • Processes personal protection orders.
Committees:

Apportionment Committee - The Menominee County Apportionment Committee is responsible for establishing County Commissioner districts within the County every 10 years after the census has been completed.
