- Residential Detached Accessory Structures under 200sqft do not need a Building Permit
- Non-Residential Detached Accessory Structures under 120sqft do not need a Building Permit
- Siding, maintenance, minor repairs or finish work do not need a Building Permit
- Electrical, Plumbing & Mechanical permits are only issued by the State of Michigan
- Electrical, Plumbing & Mechanical permit inspections are only done by the State of Michigan
- Electrical, Plumbing & Mechanical permit finals need to be completed and approved before a final inspection can be done for a Building Permit
- Driveway Permits can be obtained through Menominee County Road Commission (work within county easement)
- Fire Numbers are obtained through the Township Supervisor in your Township
- Floodplain, wetlands, or other permits are issued by MDNRE
- Building Permits expire after 180 days if work has not started or no inspections are called for
- You can request an extension for Building Permits in writing/phone/mail at no cost
- Building Permit is required for any demolitions
- Demolitions require 2 inspections (Prior to demo and once completed)
- Engineered stamped drawings are required for sidewalls over 12ft high
