The Michigan Freedom of Information Act requires Menominee County to respond to your request within five (5) business days days after your request is received. The day your request is recieved does not count towards the five (5) business days. Requests submitted on a weekend or recognized holiday will be considered to be received on the next business day.
Menominee County's initial response may include issuing a notice extending, for not more than ten (10) business days the period to respond to your request.
Menominee County may require a good-faith deposit of 50% of the estimated cost to produce the public records you requested if the total estimated cost exceeds $50.
Menominee County requires payment in full for actual costs to produce the public records you requested beforfe the public records will be released to you.
You have the right to appeal any fee assed to process your request to Chair of the Menominee County Board of Commissioners or file a lawsuit in the Menominee County Circuit Court.
