Special License Information
***A completed Special License application must be submitted as early as possible before your event(s) to avoid any delays in processing. It is strongly recommended that you submit the application as soon as you know the date of your event(s). Failure to submit a completed application at least ten (10) business days prior to the event(s) may result in no Special License being issued, pursuant to administrative rule R 436.575..***
Below you will find several documents related to submitting a request for a non-profit organization Special License, including the Special License application form. Please read the instructions carefully to ensure that you have completed the application correctly. A checklist also been provided in the instructions to help you make a quick review of the items you need to submit.
You must submit your completed application at least ten (10) business days before your event for adequate processing time. It is strongly recommended that you submit the application as soon as you know the date of your event(s). Please fax completed applications with credit card payments to 517-284-8557. You may also mail or hand deliver applications with payments to the MLCC Lansing office (Click here for mailing and physical address), but be reminded that your application must be received by the MLCC at least 10 business days in advance of your event. If you have questions about Special Licenses, please call the MLCC, toll-free, at 866-813-0011.
***Effective November 21, 2019, pursuant to Public Act 131 of 2019, surety bonds are no longer required for Special Licenses or Beer Festival Special Licenses***
