Opting out of Friend of the Court Services:
Complete the Advice of rights form. This form must be signed by both parties. Once completed, submit the form to the Friend of the Court office.
The Friend of the Court will complete the Order Exempting Case form. The form will then be submitted to the Judge for signature.
Once the form is signed by the Judge, the Friend of the Court will complete form DHS-1424 (State Case Registration of a Non-IV-D and Opt out Case) and submit it to the OSC Central Operations. A copy of the Order Exempting the Case will be sent to both parties by the Friend of the Court.
