The Menominee County Fair is the time and place that many of our youth, particularly those who raise animals, have their first opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned over the past year. The experience of getting up in front of a judge, answering questions (and trying not to shake too much) while trying to remember to stand up straight and look the judge in the eye, is a huge growth experience. They have to learn how to care and feed their animals properly, then learn proper showmanship techniques depending on the species of animal they show. Youth learn responsibility, dependability and public speaking skills - all tools they will need for the rest of their lives.
The 2020 Menominee County Fair is: July 16-19, 2020
The Menominee County Fair Board meets every month on the 3rd Wednesday at 6:00 PM at the Annex in Stephenson.
The Fair board voted to hold a "Virtual Fair" in place of an in person fair this year for 2020.
It is with heavy hearts and after much discussion that our fair board has decided to change to a virtual fair for 2020. The safety and health of our community, exhibitors, volunteers and vendors was our top priority in this decision. Our efforts will now switch to creating a fantastic virtual event so stay tuned for announcements in the near future.
Thank you to our sponsors, vendors, volunteers and all involved in our fair. Stay safe and healthy and we look forward to holding our fair again in 2021!
** we moved to virtual planning so our 4Hers and other youth can still exhibit, albeit differently, but still exhibits their animals and items. Stay tuned for details as we get them finalized.
There are many different things going on, such as truck pulls, tractor pulls, and horse pulls.
All state funding for the fair has been eliminated. The Fair needs your help, financially, with volunteer labor and with your attendance. Call Eric Tickler at 906-250-7167 to learn how you can help.
