Red Cross – will respond to:
Yes Fires (home, grass, or forest)
Yes Floods
Yes Tornado
Yes Extreme snow or ice storms
Yes Major transportation accidents
Yes Hazmat
Yes Evacuation
No They do not respond to single residence power failure.
The Red Cross offers temporary housing and monetary assistance for single family or larger apartment fires.
For evacuation they set up a shelter, provide food, nursing service and mental health service.
The average response time is within two (2) hours of notification, depending on the location of the incident.
They do provide emergency notification of service personnel through AFES (Armed Forces Emergency Service). Any inquiries refer to 1-877-272-7337.
