Menominee County operates a variety of scenic waterfront parks. Enjoy the Menominee River at Mason Park, River Park and Chappee Rapids; the Lake Michigan shoreline at Airport, Stoney Point, Bailey and/or Kleinke Park; or enjoy the multipurpose inland lakes at Shakey Lakes Park.

Each park has its own wonderful amentities to offer. Our largest park is Shakey Lakes, offering campsites (electrical or natural) to reserve and lease - amongst many other amentities that you would wish a park to have. Kleinke Park is our second largest park that also offers campsites to reserve and lease. Bailey Park is home to the historic West Shore Fishing Museum.

Continue on to any of the Parks listed below to learn more information of what these park can offer.

Besides the Parks that are operated by Menominee County, there are many other hot spots through out the County. To view all of the parks that are scattered throughout Menominee County, click on each park button below.

Menominee County Parks are open all year for recreational purposes. Camping is limited to May1, to Nov. 1. No camping is allowed after Nov. 1 of each year.

DECEMBER 20, 2021 The Menominee County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a new pricing structure to be implemented throughout the county park system in 2022. The new pricing structure is aimed at simplicity by eliminating multiple tiers of pricing that varied from park to park and instead utilizes uniform pricing for all parks in Menominee County.

The most significant change may be the requirement that all vehicles that enter a county park will be required to pay a daily fee or display an annual Menominee County Park System sticker. In the past, a park pass was only needed for Shakey Lakes Park, but a separate boat launch permit was needed to use the various boat launch sites owned by Menominee County. The new park pass is all-inclusive, including the entrance fee and boat launch fee, and is now required for all parks. The County modeled the new pricing structure after the system being used in the State of Michigan Park System.

The following are the new Menominee County Park fees for 2022:

VEHICLE ENTRANCE FEES (Required for All Parks & Boat Launches)

DAILY - $ 5.00 per day

ANNUAL - $ 20.00 annually

A second annual pass may be purchased for $10 when purchased for a vehicle registered to the same owner and purchased at the same time as the original annual pass. Proof of vehicle registrations is required.

ELECTRIC - $ 25.00 per day

NON-ELECTRIC - $ 15.00 per day (where avail)

RESERVATION FEE - $ 10.00 per reservation

SEASONAL SITE - $ 1,850.00 annually

PAVILION - $ 50.00 per day

A new online reservation system for making camping reservations at Shakey Lakes, Kleinke Park, and River Park is available. All sites at the county-owned campgrounds will now be by reservation only, but you can make reservations online for the same day if a site is available. More information will be released on the new online reservation system early in 2022.

"This is the first step in reorganizing the Menominee County Parks System to improve the quality of parks in our community and to use the limited resources we have in a more efficient manner. There have been many improvements made at the county parks in the past year or two – the addition of a kayak launch and overall renovation at Mason Park, rip-rap added at Stony Point Boat Launch, development of an online reservation system, and electricity upgrades at Shakey Lakes amongst the many. But there are a lot of projects and maintenance to be completed and the additional revenue generated from the new pricing system can help achieve some of those goals," said Menominee County Administrator Jason Carviou.

The new pricing system takes effect January 1, 2022. Annual passes can currently be purchased at the Menominee County Courthouse and are also available online at www.menomineecountyparks.com
