What3words has divided the globe into 10ft squares and given each one a unique three-word identifier.  It means any precise location can be communicated with just three words.  During an emergency, you call, or Text-to-911, a 911 Dispatcher is going to ask you, “Where is your emergency?”  We are using what3words to locate and respond to emergency incidents more quickly.  Emergencies can happen anywhere, from an incident on a remote trail to an accident on the side of a highway.  However, identifying precisely where help is needed can be nearly impossible if you’re in a remote area with no address, trail signs, or other landmarks. It’s even more difficult to communicate location accurately.  When you share an incident’s what3words address with us at 9-1-1, we can quickly identify the exact location and send life-saving resources and emergency responders to exactly where they’re needed.
