Did you know that Menominee County (along with most other Michigan Counties) has Text to 9-1-1?

It's easy to do: Simply open your text app, initiate a new text and type 9-1-1 as the recipient. Please include your name, location and a brief account of your emergency in the text and then hit send. A 911 Telecommunicator will respond and be in contact with you via texting.

Some reasons why you might text instead of calling?
Not a strong enough cellular signal to complete a call, but enough to get a text through.
A situation where you need to reach out for help while staying quiet.
You are hearing or speech impaired and don't have your cellphone enabled for RTT/TTY.
You speak another language and have a hard time understanding english.Text to 9-1-1 has an auto-translation ability that converts the conversation between the dispatch center and caller.
