from County Planning Act, 282 as amended:
Menominee County's planning commission of 7 members must include 1 County
Commissioner. The terms for appointment is 3 years.
The County Board "shall provide for the filling of a vacancy in membership...for
unexpired terms and may remove a member for nonperformance of duty or
misconduct upon public hearing"
By law, this commission must meet 4 times minimum in a year. More meetings
are set by need.
The duties of the Planning Commission are:
Serve as a coordinating agency for all planning committees and commissions
within the County.
Formulate plans and make recommendations for the most effective economic, social, and physical development of the County
Conduct studies, investigations and surveys relative to economic, social and
physical development within the county
Review and comment on proposed construction or land acquisition involving expenditure of funds by a County Board, department, or agency
Review the county comprehensive plan at least every 5 years after adoption
