SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
The Menominee County Road Commission is currently seeking applicants for the position of Seasonal Road Maintenance. This is a temporary summer position, with no benefits and no expectation of permanent employment. This position will start in mid-May and will last for approximately 11-12 weeks. You will generally work 40 hours per week, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday. Starting pay for this position is $10.00/hour.

This position reports to our Stephenson District shop. The primary duties of the position will be Traffic Control (flagging) and crack filling operations at various locations within Menominee County (training will be provided). Other duties may include road patching, weed/grass control by guard rail, cleaning of district garages and/or equipment, painting pavement markings and other duties as assigned by the district foreman. Persons in this position should expect, and be prepared, to work outside in all weather conditions and temperatures.

Applicants selected for employment must be at least 18 years of age; provide their own steel-toe safety shoes, which must be worn at all times; have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug screens. The ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively, and the ability to work satisfactorily with other employees are a must.
